DMX Engineering — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the DMX Engineering mobile app ("the app") collects, why, and your choices. It applies to the optional DMX Engineering Cloud account used to save and retrieve your casNEO lighting effects. You can use the app to manage and update DMX Engineering devices on your local network without an account; cloud features are opt‑in.

What we collect

• Account email address — only if you create a DMX Engineering Cloud account, to identify your account and let you sign in across devices.
• First name — only if you provide it at sign‑up, used to personalize the app.
• Your saved effects — the lighting "looks" and "setups" you choose to save are stored in your private cloud area as small configuration codes.

Your list of devices and their addresses is stored only on your phone and is never uploaded. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or analytics/usage tracking, and the app contains no third‑party ads or trackers.

How we use it

Your email and saved effects are used solely to provide the cloud save/sync feature so your effects are available across your devices. We never sell, rent, share, or use your information for marketing or any other purpose.

Where it is stored

Account sign‑in and saved effects are stored on Amazon Web Services (Amazon Cognito and Amazon S3, US East/West regions), which acts as our infrastructure provider. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, and each account's data is isolated to that account by per‑user access controls.

Your choices and rights

• You can use the app without ever creating an account.
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Cloud screen → Account → Delete account). This permanently removes your account and your saved effects.
• You may also request deletion or a copy of your data by contacting us.

Data retention

We keep your account and saved effects until you delete them or delete your account. There is no other retention.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version at this URL.
